- Fall (Year 1): Question Bank Access. You will receive access to UWorld via email.
- February (Year 1): Step 1 Discussions. You will start to imagine what your journey to completing Step 1 will look like.
- May (Year 1): Pre-PAL Step Readiness Session. This is a time to explore and test out what will work best for your readiness work.
- May-June (Year 1): PAL Block. You might be enrolled in the Step 1 PAL block elective, or you are continuing with Step readiness work in your own time.
- July (Year 2): MS2 Year. You've just finished PAL block and hopefully enjoyed some break time over the summer! It's time to get back into the swing of block and Step study. Double dipping can be helpful during this time!
- August (Year 2): Checking In. If you haven't met with your Learning Specialist, this is a great time to do so! Continue to develop and implement your readiness plan. Engaging with your Learning Specialist helps to ensure that you reach your goals.
- September (Year 2): Q-bank Diagnostic. Your class will take an in-person diagnostic during Capstones/PPD week. This is a status update for your readiness work. Discuss the results with your Learning Specialist in the weeks following.
- Fall (Year 2): Step 1 Readiness Events. Events may include student panels, wellness activities, workshops, and ongoing peer learning mentor support.
- October (Year 2): NBME Diagnostic. You will receive a free NBME Step 1 Dx voucher. Discuss with your Learning Specialist about your timing of this status update.
- January-February (Year 2): Dedicated Study. While you're putting in those study hours, remember that self-care is equally important during this time.
- February (Year 3) & Beyond: Transition to Clerkships and Additional Readiness Time. If you've sat for Step 1 by this point, it's time to celebrate!! If you need to extend your timeline, continue the hard work and keep your Learning Specialist updated along the way. You've got this!
